L House: The house that grows out of the landscape

Architect: Ulrich Hamann
Biro: Pott Arcitects (before Hamann Pott Architekten)

Construction date: spring 2006

Many architects struggle when faced with the possibility of compromising their own vision for that of a client’s. Ingo Pott and his practice’s multidisciplinary approach however, invite the minds of creative professionals in hopes they may provide additional stimulus in designs. Every aspect of their body of work centers around the philosophy that cultural exchange generates creativity.

Life in the midst of nature has always had a magical, inspiring quality. To create a peaceful home in nature surroundings as a balance to the hectic world of the work in the city is a lifestyle ambition wich many people find especially appealing. These thoughts were the starting-point for the discussion with a family of four, who had chosen an extensive wooded site on a slope for the realisation of their plan to build themselves a home of distincitve character. The objective was a house designed sensitivety enough to harmonise with its natural surroundings, leaving intact the mature trees and the whole forrest-like atmosphere of the setting. The build was to feel the wide open to the changing natural seasons and the sunlight, drawing them close into the family`s everyday home life. It was to be ecologically responsible building, capable of functioning sustainably with minimum demand on resources.

Massive attack - Singles 90/98

Though perhaps not as relentlessly stylish as their contemporaries Underworld, Massive Attack are still easily the most influential dance-related act of the 1990s. But on this special, limited-edition boxed set, they've also got style to spare: the box itself is gloriously groovy, constructed from a heat-sensitive material that changes colour whenever somebody handles it. And then there's the music: 11 CDs, comprising 63 tracks that include album versions, B-sides and some of the best remixes around. Though the package could have fit on fewer discs--making for fewer trips to the CD player--there's ample reasons to pull the box off the shelf repeatedly: rediscovering classics like the Bond theme-ish "Sly", the relentlessly funky Brixton bass Mix of "Daydreaming" and the subversive, lustful Underdog's Angel Dust Mix of "Protection" among them. Some are more groovy, some rock-a-sound, trip hop...to jazzy; for all tastes a truly great music what must have. I have it and i am listening to it right now!

Co-written and produced by Andy Cato of Groove Armada, and mixed by Dan Carey (Kylie, Sly & Robbie, CSS, Lily Allen), 'Let Me Know' is a huge, floor-filling monster of a tune. The track was inspired by Róisín's performance at legendary New York DJ Danny Krivit's 718 Sessions in 2006 and perfectly showcases Róisín's love of dance music coupled with a huge great melody.'Let Me Know' features three brand new B-sides and some stunning mixes from both Andy Cato and Joey Negro. However this time they're spread across the formats rather than stuffed on to one bumper-CD.
So really enjoy hers new song Let me Know and video....I LOVE HER!
